Research by scientists in Sweden concludes that early retirement may cure depression and alleviate fatigue. The survey of 13,0oo French men and women, found a significant decrease in mental and physical fatigue, after they retired.
The study also discovered, a full 25% of respondents, suffered from depression in the year before their retirement. One researcher was quoted, “if work is tiring for many older workers, the decrease in fatigue could simply reflect removal of the source of the problem (work). . . furthermore, retirement may allow people more time to engage in stimulating and restorative activities, such as physical exercise.”
If you suffer from depression, the cure may be as simple as, quitting your job and retiring early. Work may be the problem that is causing your depression. And the one sure way to beat work related depression is an early retirement. Many other workers may be suffering from depression, as they watch their retirement dreams slip away, in the current economic collapse.
Take a look at the graphic at the top of the article. It is from Yahoo’s trending now chart, which shows, the top ten current search terms.
