 The “Dragon Lady” Conquers China
Hillary Clinton just wrapped up a successful sales visit to Beijing China, convincing her hosts that the Obama Stimulus is a product worth buying, “I certainly do think that the Chinese government and central bank are making a smart decision by continuing to invest in Treasury bonds… It’s a safe investment. The United States has a well-deserved financial reputation.” Said Hillary Clinton.
Actually, the United States has a well deserved reputation for financial corruption, and Treasury Bonds are only as safe as China’s willingness to buy them. However, Hillary Clinton was being honest when she told the Chinese, “We are truly going to rise or fall together. We are in the same boat and, thankfully, we are rowing in the same direction.â€
To seal the deal with the Chinese, our Secretary of State and leading sales person, threw Tibet and Darfur under the bus. Issues such as Tibet and Taiwan, “can’t interfere with the global economic crisisâ€., Hillary Clinton informed the Chinese, the Dalai Lama, and the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
All in all it was a superb success.  Hillary Clinton’s visit charmed the Chinese, showing her hosts proper respect, and a maturity that had been lacking for eight years. When George Bush last visited China, it was for the opening of the Beijing Olympics, and he embarrassed the Chinese by allowing Georgia to start a war during the opening ceremony. The U.S. stock market collapsed soon after, when Lehman Brothers tanked, and the Chinese refused to bail them out. As they had done with Bear Stearns one year earlier.
Indeed, the two economies do rise and fall together, and close cooperation and friendly relations between the United States are necessary to avoid a complete economic collapse.  Other steps need to be taken to insure that relations improve even further, with stronger regulation of the U.S. financial markets, and prosecutions of bankers and Bush employees responsible for the economic collapse. The sooner these steps are taken, the sooner the economy will hit bottom, and the sooner the two economies will recover.
Hillary Clinton’s trip to China was so successful, that she should not return to Washington, but instead fly to Moscow – with a stop in Riyadh.
