How To Make Money From Your Green Blog

January 24th, 2009 · No Comments

You created a Green Blog to Save The World!  You maybe also hoped that besides saving the world, your Green Blog could provide an income, enough money so that you could quit your job and save the planet.  You put in hours and hours of your life, learning how to create a blog, market your blog, and monetize your blog.  You set-up Google AdWords and you still can’t quit your job.

You quickly realize that it will take tens of thousands of visitors to your blog each month to make any money from Google AdWords.    There are a million Green Blogs on the internet, all trying to save the world, and each one cries out for attention and visitors.  You also realize that the effort it will take, to start getting tens of thousands of visitors to your Green Blog, will require the equivalent of a full time job with no pay – for at least one year.

After a few months of slogging away at your Green Blog, after the excitement has worn off, and you are left wracking your brain trying to come up with your next post.   You quit, not your job as you were hoping for, but your Green Blog.   You do a cost benefit analysis, and quickly determine that the odds of success, given your time and money constraints are stacked against you.  It does not make sense to continue.  And it is a shame, because your Green Blog had something important to say, and now your voice has been silenced.

I want to share with you, how your Green Blog can make money, and save the world.  Create a Green Blog Network.  A very simple way to generate tens of thousands of visitors to your Green Blog every month.  So that your blog can begin earning money from Google Adwords.  Here is how it works:

Step 1.  Create your Green Blog Network

You need a network of 25 to 50 Green Blogs to make this happen.  You find individual Green Blogs that you like, and that your readers will enjoy, and you invite them to join the Green Network.  It is important that you only invite individual blog owners that your readers will enjoy.  If you send your blog reader off to a lousy site, you break your trust with your visitor, and they may never return to your Green Blog.  You do not want to lose readers.

You send the Green Blog owner the following email, the subject line of your email should read, I want to add your blog to my blogroll:

Dear Bob:
I really like your Green Blog, your posts are always interesting and entertaining, and I visit your blog often.  I also have a Green Blog, and I believe that my readers would enjoy visiting your site.  I would like to add you to my Green Blogroll.  It would be great if my visitors, visited your Green Blog, after they are done reading my posts.

I think that your readers would enjoy visiting my Green Blog as well, and I would like to know, if you would be interested in adding my Green Blog to your blogroll?

Please visit my Green Blog at http://www.iplanretirement.com/

Both our Green Blogs would benefit from increased visitors and search traffic.  And our readers will also benefit from gaining each others perspectives, as we both attempt, to make this a better world with our Green Blogs.  If you are interested please let me know, and I will add you to my Green Blogroll and notify you when your blog has been added.  And let me know how you want your blog to read on my blogroll when you reply.

Sincerely,

Step 2.   Add Them to Your Blogroll

When the Green Blog owner has replied, add them to your blogroll as they wish to appear, and send them the following email.

Hi Bob:

Thank you for responding to my email, I am glad that you are interested in sharing visitors, and I believe that it will benefit both our blogs.  I’ve added your Green Blog to my blogroll, just the way you wanted, and you can see it here: http://www.iplanretirement.com/retirementblog

Please add my Green Blog to your blog roll, http://www.iplanretirement.com, and have it read – Green Retirement. Please let me know when you have added my blog.  I hope you start receiving my readers soon, and increased search traffic, helping both our blogs and the planet.

Thank You,

Step 3  Check their Blogroll

After a month has gone by, check their blogroll to see if your blog appears on their blog, if it’s not on there simply remove their site from your blogroll.   That’s it your done.

As you add Green Blogs to your blogroll, and others add your blog to theirs, both of you will be increasing your search traffic and Google AdWord.  It is a win-win-win, for both your blogs, and the planet.

If you have a Green Blog that you believe my readers would enjoy, please let me know in the comment section below, I will check your blog.  If I think that my readers will benefit from your blog, I will add you to my blogroll and notify you, just like I wrote above.  I will update this post as I develop my Green Blog Network and share the results.  Let’s see what happens!
