The first post on the retirement blog was about saving your individual retirement asse(t)s. The second post on the retirement blog,  is about saving the Planet’s assets.

We are consuming the earth’s natural resources at an unsustainable rate. The United States is 5% of the world’s population, yet we consume 25% of the world’s resources, we are responsible for the crisis facing our planet.

The good news is that there is something you can do to help save our planet - retire.

By retiring, you will dramatically reduce your consumption, of the earth’s resources. The positive impact your retirement will have on the planet is tremendous. And the earlier you retire the better.

If you only think about, your environmentally un-friendly and financially costly commute, you can understand the impact of retirement on the environment. Beyond your work commute, your retirement will reduce your over-all consumption, of our planet’s resources.

It’s why the slogan of Green Retirement Planning is “Do the World a Favor and Retire!” When you retire, you are not only making your life better, but everyone else’s as well.
