Top 2 Retirement Myths
You need to be rich to retire
You don’t need to be rich to retire. You see the word “Rich” on the covers personal finance magazines, Money Magazine has the headline “Retire Rich” on it’s cover, and you assume that you have to be rich to retire. First of all, what does rich mean, how much money makes you rich? Rich is a very subjective term. Rich means different things to different people. Your definition of “Rich”, would probably make, a CEO feel very “Poor”.
The truth is, you don’t need to be rich to retire, you can retire with less than a million dollars. You can retire with $500,000. You don’t need to be a mega-millionaire, or win the lottery, in order to have a happy and successful retirement.
Retirement is for old people
You do not need to be old to retire. Retirement is not about age. Retirement is the point, at which you no longer have to work, to financially support yourself. And retirement is not for old people. A college student graduating this year could, with a little bit of planning, retire by the age of 35. Retirement is for anyone who wants to stop working at any age.
