Several years ago, while doing research on my personal retirement, I joined an online retirement forum. I asked very few questions, but spent a lot of time reading the forum posts, trying to learn from others who were either retired or further along in their retirement planning. One of the frequent posters in this forum, was a doctor from Costa Rica who claimed that, his sex life had dramatically improved in retirement. Not only the quantity of sex, had increased, but the quality had improved as well.
At first, the good doctor’s prescription for a better love life, startled my naive thirty-something senses. Sex in retirement? I had never thought about it, instead focusing on boring investments, and researching strategies to retire early. Suddenly, retirement became sexy, and my interest in early retirement began to grow.

And, of course it makes sense, the doctor didn’t go into the details (rather personal subject), however it doesn’t take a medical degree to figure it out that - Work kills romance. Work takes the most productive hours of your day, and leaves you, physically, mentally, and emotionally dry. After work, you take one tired look at your exhausted partner, and another at the pile of laundry, and you fold.
Retirement is Natural Viagra. When you retire you have more time, and energy, to enjoy the good things in life - like sex. So, as Valentines Day 2009 quickly approaches and thoughts invariably turn to romance, their is something you can do to improve your love life - Retire. Find out if you can retire today!
