Excuse me?
I'm glad to know that you find the word "Paki" derogatory and offensive - as do I. Coming from the "Paki" part of the world myself, and growing-up having watched race riots in Britain on the BBC, the last time the U.K. was in a prolonged economic slump, the phrase "beating up Pakis" was not inserted at random.

If your Equity Minister has her way, "beating up Pakis", will be the inevitable and unfortunate result. The phrase "beating up Pakis" was deliberately used, in an effort to shock you into understanding, how eliminating the mandatory retirement age in the U.K. will lead to greater youth unemployment and violence.

Your nation, as well as mine, have sad histories of turning on immigrants during economic downturns. Europe is succumbing, once again, to a rise in anti-immigrant politics and practice.

Eliminating the mandatory retirement age will increase unemployment and fuel the bigots in your country. It is in your nation's best interest to maintain, or even lower, the mandatory retirement age.

My apologies if I offended you.

I can't imagine you using the "n" word on your blog, so why do you think it's acceptable to casually throw "paki" into the middle of a sentence, apparently at random?
